Bridging the Gap: Lessons from a Mixed Methods Care Cascade Study in Rural China
Presenter: Dr. Xuejun Yin
Dr. Xuejun Yin is a professor at the School of Public Health, Nanchang University, and currently serves as Deputy Chair of the Marketing & Communication Committee of the Mixed Methods International Research Association (MMIRA). Her research focuses on the application of qualitative and mixed methods in the development and evaluation of strategies for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
She has played a key role in multiple large-scale population studies, cluster randomized controlled trials, and implementation science projects funded by the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), and the World Health Organization (WHO). Her research has addressed a wide range of public health initiatives, including the implementation and promotion of low-sodium salt, front-of-pack food labeling, influenza vaccine uptake, and the management of hypertension and diabetes in primary care settings using qualitative and mixed methods approaches.
Dr. Yin has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in leading SCI journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, Lancet Regional Health, Hypertension, and JAMA Network Open. She has also contributed as a co-author and translator to seven books on mixed methods research in both Chinese and English.
